The M5 Max version features an 18-core CPU and up to a 40-core GPU. Each GPU core now includes a Neural Accelerator, helping speed up AI workloads. The GPU is nearly twice as fast as the previous generation. The chip also includes a 16-core Neural Engine. Four unified memory configurations are available: 36GB, 48GB, 64GB, and 128GB. Memory bandwidth reaches up to 614 GB\/s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Storage options include 512GB, 1TB, 2TB, 4TB, or 8TB SSD storage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Mac Studio with M5 Ultra<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

      Mac Studio with M5 Ultra is the most powerful model in the lineup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      This chip is built for extreme workloads, with up to 36 CPU cores and up to 80 GPU cores. For the first time, the Ultra chip includes Neural Accelerators in every GPU core. AI performance is powered by a 32-core Neural Engine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      According to Apple, overall graphics performance is up to 40% faster than the previous generation powered by M3 Ultra.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      M5 Ultra is available with 96GB, 256GB, or 512GB of unified memory, while memory bandwidth reaches an impressive 1.2 TB\/s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      For projects, media libraries, and professional assets, you can choose between 1TB, 2TB, 4TB, 8TB, or 16TB SSD storage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

          Mac Studio 2026 Overview<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

          The two new models look almost identical. Both use the same compact aluminum enclosure and feature the same port layout. However, the port specifications differ, and the M5 Ultra version is approximately 900 grams heavier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

          Key upgrades available on both Mac Studio models include support for Thunderbolt 5, Wi\u2011Fi 7, and Bluetooth 6.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

          As with previous generations, they support hardware-accelerated ray tracing, hardware-accelerated H.264, HEVC, ProRes, and ProRes RAW encoding and decoding, as well as support for up to eight external displays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
