The fall presentation is the main event of fall 2024 for Apple fans. Year after year, the company continues to surprise us with new products. On September 9, at an event called “It’s Glowtime,” Apple unveiled the Apple Watch Series 10, the black Apple Watch Ultra 2, two variants of AirPods 4, and the main star of the show—the iPhone 16. Let’s dive into the details.
Apple Watch Series 10
The world’s best-selling watch is now thinner than ever. It features a larger, more modern display, faster charging, and depth and water temperature sensors. Apple has placed a strong emphasis on health monitoring with this device. The watch is powered by the S10 processor, which supports Apple’s proprietary AI features. One standout feature is the sleep apnea notification system.
Elegant Design and New Features
More powerful, intelligent, and refined than ever, the Apple Watch Series 10 is the thinnest in the lineup. A new Flux watch face was developed specifically for the Series 10’s display. The larger screen offers 30% more active display area compared to the Apple Watch Series 4, 5, and 6, making it easier to view more information at a glance.
Two Case Options and Three Colors
For the first time, the watch is available in polished aluminum. Additionally, the Apple Watch Series 10 comes in aerospace-grade titanium, replacing the stainless steel used in previous generations. The aluminum Apple Watch 10 is available in black, gold, and silver, while the titanium models come in black, gold, and natural titanium.
The Most Elegant Yet
The Apple Watch Series 10 is almost 10% thinner than the Series 7, 8, and 9, measuring just 9.7 mm. It retains familiar features and adds new ones while maintaining an 18-hour battery life. Apple has increased the charging speed: the Series 10 can charge to 80% in just 30 minutes.
Not only is the Apple Watch Series 10 thinner, but it’s also lighter: the aluminum case is 10% lighter than the Series 9, and the titanium case is nearly 20% lighter. The Series 10 features a slightly altered design with more rounded corners and a wider aspect ratio, available in 42 mm and 46 mm sizes.
Perfect for Sports
The Apple Watch is ideal for water activities, featuring a waterproof case, automatic stroke detection, lap counting, and a Custom Workouts feature for pool swimming in watchOS 11. A new sensor measures water temperature after submersion, and the built-in Depth app helps you navigate underwater, showing time, depth, and other key metrics.
Sound Through Speakers and Voice Isolation
The Apple Watch Series 10 can now play audio through the built-in speaker. Apple uses a neural network for voice isolation, which runs on a 4-core Neural Engine processor to remove background noise during phone calls, ensuring only clear voice transmission, even in noisy environments.
New Finishes and Straps
Apple also unveiled the second generation of the Apple Watch Ultra in Satin Black. The watch features a new black titanium finish and a back glass made of dark zirconium, making it highly scratch-resistant. The Titanium Milanese Loop strap is made from the same titanium as the case, making it incredibly lightweight and corrosion-resistant. With a dual-button clasp, it’s reliable for any water sport and won’t accidentally unfasten or get lost. The Titanium Milanese Loop is available in natural and black titanium.
AirPods 4
Offering incredible sound quality, up to 24 hours of battery life with the charging case, and iconic design, this year’s AirPods 4 come in two variants: the classic model and one with ANC (Active Noise Cancellation).
Apple’s Best Open-Design Earbuds
Apple has redesigned the AirPods for a better fit, with a slightly altered shape and reduced thickness. They now offer personalized spatial audio, tracking head movements for a more immersive sound experience.
The new AirPods are powered by the Apple H2 chip, which drives their smart audio features, including voice isolation for clearer call quality, no matter what’s happening around you. To answer a call, just nod your head. To reject a call, shake your head from side to side.
Now with USB-C Charging
The new AirPods case supports USB-C charging, and AirPods 4 with ANC can also be charged using an Apple Watch charger. The case itself has been slimmed down to just 50 mm thick, making it the most compact wireless charging case yet.
Noise Cancellation and Transparency Mode
With AirPods 4 featuring ANC, you can enjoy high-quality sound even in noisy environments. Want to hear the world around you? Just switch to Transparency Mode. There’s also Adaptive Audio, which blends Transparency and ANC modes, automatically adjusting to your surroundings.
To engage in a conversation without removing the earbuds, use the Conversation Awareness feature, which lowers the audio volume when you start speaking.
