In a presentation held on the night of October 31, Apple focused on the MacBook Pro and iMac. These are the first computers powered by M3 family processors, designed using 3nm technology, promising enhanced performance and battery life. Notably, this marks the second update to the MacBook Pro with 14 and 16-inch displays in a year.
M3, M3 Pro, and M3 Max: Exceptionally Fast and Powerful
The latest generation MacBook Pro is built using 3-nanometer technology and features an entirely new graphics processor architecture. These chips are the most advanced currently available for professional computers. Each chip in the M3 family outperforms its “younger” sibling.
MacBook Pro with the base M3 processor runs 60% faster than the 13-inch MacBook Pro with the M1 chip. The M3 Pro offers a 40% boost in performance compared to the M1 Pro. And for those who demand top-tier performance, the M3 Max is ideal. Compared to the M1 Max, it offers a 2.5x performance increase. When compared to the most powerful MacBook Pro with Intel, the performance improvement is a staggering 11x.
It’s worth noting that the latest MacBook Pro models introduce hardware-accelerated ray tracing for the first time. In simple terms, in combination with the new graphics architecture, this enables more realistic shadows and reflections in games and speeds up rendering by 2.5 times.
Additionally, the new MacBook Pro models are more energy-efficient, offering up to 22 hours of battery life. Even when unplugged, there’s no significant impact on performance.
Displays with Exceptional Dynamic Range
There are no groundbreaking revelations in this regard. The Liquid Retina XDR display still holds the title of the world’s best laptop display with a constant brightness of 1000 nits and peak brightness of 1600 nits for HDR content. The only improvement is a 20% increase in screen brightness when working with SDR content.
The display delivers an impressive contrast ratio, realistic vivid colors, deep shadows, top-tier detail, and a fantastic viewing angle. Working on a Mac will be comfortable even in bright sunlight.
If you work with graphics, you’ll undoubtedly appreciate these features. In addition, each Liquid Retina XDR display is factory-calibrated and supports Pro Motion and Pro Reference modes.
Regarding support for external displays, a MacBook Pro with the M3 chip can connect to one display, while the M3 Pro and M3 Max models can connect to two and four displays, respectively. Programmers, photographers, video editors, designers, artists, and professionals from various fields will be delighted.
The new laptops retain the same 1080p camera, a three-microphone studio-quality array, and a six-speaker audio system, offering stable and unchanged performance. They also support Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3.
New Space Black Color – Blacker Than Black
Apple has added a new color to the MacBook lineup – Space Black. The dark aluminum looks exceptionally stylish and is less prone to fingerprint smudges due to anodization.
However, the exclusive Space Black color will only be available for the M3 Pro and M3 Max models. Besides black, the laptops will be available in Silver. The “younger” M3 models will be offered in the classic Space Gray and Silver. The new MacBook Pro 14 and 16 models are truly impressive. They will be available for pre-order on our website very soon. Stay tuned for updates to be among the first to secure these top-tier devices
