On September 9, Apple held its annual event and introduced its most anticipated new products. These include iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, the new Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4, AirPods 5 in two versions, and the headline product of the event, the foldable iPhone Duo. In this iSpace overview, we cover the most important announcements from Apple’s conference.

How the Apple 2026 Event Unfolded and What Apple Announced

The slogan of the September event was  Surprise and Shine. The event took place at Apple Park in Cupertino and was streamed online. The main topics included new devices, the development of Apple Intelligence, and stronger health and personal experience features across the Apple ecosystem. Below, we’ll take a closer look at all these announcements, but first, here’s a quick summary of everything Apple introduced in 2026:

  • iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max in four colors;
  • the new Apple Watch Series 12;
  • Apple Watch Ultra 4;
  • new health and fitness features powered by Apple Intelligence;
  • enhanced Siri AI capabilities.

iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max with the Most Advanced Camera System and Longer Battery Life

The Pro models run on the  A20 Pro chip, built using a 2‑nanometer process. It features a 6‑core CPU, a 7‑core GPU with neural acceleration in each core, and an updated Neural Engine with 32 processing cores in total. Apple redesigned the cooling system and introduced a second-generation vapor chamber, helping the phones stay cool during gaming and preventing screen dimming under heavy workloads.

Photographers and content creators will appreciate the advanced camera capabilities. The devices feature three 48MP cameras: Wide, Ultra Wide, and Telephoto. On the front, there is an 18MP camera with Center Stage, which keeps the user centered in the frame.

One of the biggest updates is the variable aperture on the main camera (f/1.48-f/4), allowing users to control light and depth of field more precisely. This can be adjusted through the new Pro Control interface directly in the Camera app. The Telephoto camera enables up to 8x zoom without loss of quality. For video, users can record in 4K at 120 fps with Dolby Vision, ProRes RAW, and Apple Log 2, and can also add the Cinematic effect after filming.

During the presentation, Apple announced the longest battery life ever in an iPhone. iPhone 18 Pro delivers up to 36 hours of video playback, while iPhone 18 Pro Max reaches up to 45 hours (eSIM versions).

Other specifications include:

  • 6.3‑inch display on iPhone 18 Pro and 6.9‑inch display on iPhone 18 Pro Max, with refresh rates up to 120Hz;
  • Dynamic Island can display up to three live activities at the same time;
  • Apple C2 modem;
  • storage options: 256GB, 512GB, 1TB, and 2TB;
  • four finishes: Burgundy, Glacier, Silver, and Black.

Apple Watch Series 12 with New Health Tracking Features

The new watch includes the Health Sensing System sensor. It measures heart rate much more frequently, tracks recovery, and introduces advanced Audio Intelligence features.

Apple Watch Series 12 highlights:

  • Two case sizes: 42mm and 46mm.
  • Materials and finishes:
    • Aluminum: Dark Bronze, Light Gold, Black, and Space Gray.
    • Titanium: Radiant Gold and Natural Titanium.
    • Ceramic: Pearl White and Night Blue.
  • S11 chip and fast charging: just 15 minutes of charging provides up to 12 hours of use.
  • Heart rate tracking in the background every  5 seconds, and heart rate variability measurements every 5 minutes, providing a more complete picture of heart health.
  • Audio Intelligence features. The watch can recognize and remember surrounding sounds. For example, it can display a transcript of a recent conversation at the press of a button. During business meetings or longer conversations, users can activate Siri Recap, which creates a short summary that appears in Notes on iPhone.
  • The Readiness app evaluates the user’s condition during sleep and provides a score each morning. The score ranges from 0 to 10 and shows how ready the body is for physical activity.

Apple Watch Ultra 4 with the S11 Chip

Apple Watch Ultra 4 brings all the features introduced in Apple Watch Series 12. It remains Apple’s flagship watch, offering the widest range of sensors and exceptional battery life. The case is made of titanium and comes in two finishes: Natural Titanium and Black Titanium. It is available in a single 49mm size.

What’s new in Apple Watch Ultra 4:

  • S11 chip and Siri AI integration. The watch can listen to the surrounding environment and create short text summaries based on conversations. This feature can run on a schedule or remain active throughout the day.
  • Recovery HRV replaces standard HRV tracking. The watch measures heart rate variability during rest  24 times more frequently than the previous generation, providing a more accurate picture of recovery and readiness.
  • Heart rate tracking every 5 seconds throughout the day.
  • Morning Readiness score.
  • Battery life of up to 50 hours, or  up to 84 hours  in Low Power Mode. A 15‑minute charge adds approximately 18 more hours of use.

AirPods 5 with Improved Active Noise Cancellation in Both Versions

The popular earbuds are available in two versions, and both now support Active Noise Cancellation (ANC). Noise cancellation is more powerful, while Transparency mode sounds more natural.

The differences between the two models are:

  • Touch controls: the advanced version allows users to control playback by swiping on the stem.
  • Charging case features: the premium model supports Qi wireless charging and Apple Watch charging. It also includes a built-in speaker for Find My. The standard case charges only through USB‑C.
  • Battery life: standard AirPods 5 provide up to 4 hours of listening time with ANC enabled and up to 20 hours with the charging case. The advanced version offers  up to 5 hours  with ANC enabled and up to 22 hours with the charging case.

iPhone Duo with a Revolutionary Foldable Design

Apple’s new CEO, John Ternus, who succeeded Tim Cook, described this product as the biggest change to iPhone since the original model.

iPhone Duo opens like a book and can be used both folded and unfolded. iOS has been redesigned for dual displays. For example, controls have moved to the side to leave more room for content.

The  5.4‑inch outer display offers about 90% of the screen area of iPhone 18 Pro. When folded, it feels like a familiar one‑handed smartphone. The inner display is the largest ever seen on an iPhone at  7.6 inches. When opened, users can run two apps side by side, almost like on an iPad.

The dual‑display design also improves the photography experience. Here are two practical examples:

  1. You can see the person you’re photographing on the inner display while they see themselves on the outer display, making it easier for them to adjust their pose.
  2. When taking pictures of children, animations can be displayed on the outer screen to attract their attention and direct their gaze toward the camera.

iPhone Duo specifications:

  • Two  Super Retina XDR displays with the same aspect ratio, allowing content to scale smoothly when the phone folds. Supports ProMotion, Always‑On display, and up to 3000 nits peak brightness.
  • Inner display with a matte nano‑texture finish. It helps make the fold almost invisible, feels comfortable to the touch, and reduces glare.
  • Titanium body with a mirror‑polished finish. When unfolded, it is the thinnest iPhone ever made.
  • A20 Pro chip, the same processor used in iPhone 18 Pro.
  • Two batteries (one in each half of the device) and a vapor chamber cooling system.
  • Video playback battery life: up to 31 hours on the inner display, up to 44 hours on the outer display, and around 24 hours of mixed use.
  • Touch ID  integrated into the side button instead of Face ID.
  • Two 48MP rear cameras: Wide and Ultra Wide.
  • Two 12MP front cameras: one on the outer display and one hidden under the inner display that becomes visible when needed.
  • Apple Pencil support.
  • Storage options: 256GB, 512GB, 1TB, and 2TB.
  • Two finishes: Night Sky and Star White.
